Accommodation
Aruba Noord: ocean views and quiet comfort
Stay at Aruba Beach Villas
The houses are basic and not particularly modern, however what they lack in polish they make up for in location. With oceanfront access and world-class wind sports right outside your door, this is a great spot to stay. Plus, sunsets here are pure gold.
Stay at Bubali Gardens
Alternatively, if you prefer something quiet and tucked away? Bubali Gardens is a lush little hideaway with full kitchens and a central location that makes it easy to explore the whole island. In addition, a rental car is recommended to get the most out of your stay. It’s great for longer visits or working remotely between beach breaks.
Food & Drinks
Local favorites and modern spots
Aruba’s food and bar scene is just as inviting as its beaches. In addition to fresh seafood and Caribbean flavors, you’ll find influences from Latin America and the Netherlands, creating a mix that feels both familiar and new. For instance, beachside restaurants serve grilled fish while open-air bars offer cold drinks with ocean views.

Activities
Explore the island: wind, beaches, walks & active days
Aruba is famous for its world-class beaches. However, if you don’t want to spend all day on the sand, there’s plenty more to do. For example, the island is one of the top wind-sports destinations in the world, thanks to steady winds and warm, shallow water. Meanwhile, if you prefer to stay on land, you can enjoy the sunset boardwalks or explore Arikok National Park.
Best beaches
Arashi Beach – To start, Arashi offers calm water, great snorkeling, and peaceful sunsets.
Manchebo Beach – Meanwhile, Manchebo is wide and quiet, making it perfect for morning swims or yoga.
Eagle Beach – Eagle Beach has a long stretch of white sand and clear water, though the presence of jet skis can sometimes be distracting.
Mangel Halto – Finally, for something more secluded, Mangel Halto is rocky and ideal for snorkeling and spotting tropical fish in a quieter setting.
Other activities
Horseback riding with Rancho Loco – For a scenic land-based adventure, ride through Arikok National Park, where cacti meet coastline and the views stretch for miles. For guided rides and well-cared-for horses, see Rancho Loco for a great option.
Kayaking at Mangel Halto – Alternatively, if you prefer something on the water, paddle through the calm, mangrove-lined channels of Mangel Halto. For rentals and tours, see Clear Bottom Kayak.
Best free activities
Hooiberg – A short hike with a big view. If possbile, go early to avoid the heat.
Palm Beach to Arashi walk – A stunning sunrise or sunset route, for an amazing walk.
Where to rent surf gear
Vela Aruba – A beachfront hub for kite, wing, windsurf, and SUP. It’s a great spot to learn or level up, thanks to experienced instructors and a welcoming, social vibe.
Windsurfing Aruba – A long-standing local favorite with expert guidance and affordable price, especially ideal for beginners.
Tip: because Aruba’s wind is strong and often offshore, take a lesson if you’re not already confident on the water. Most schools include rescue support, and the extra guidance makes a noticeable difference in both skill and confidence.
